David J. Simpson, M.B.A., FCIP, Facility Association President & CEO

A native of Surrey, British Columbia, Dave moved to Ontario in 1987 and began his insurance career at the Canadian head office of State Farm Insurance. After serving in a variety of progressive management roles, he became President and CEO of Facility Association, Canada’s automobile insurance residual market organization, in July 2001.

Dave was president of the Insurance Institute of Ontario for two terms (1999 through 2001) and was a member of the Executive Committee and Board of Governors of the Insurance Institute of Canada as well.

Dave has a BA from Simon Fraser University; an MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business and is a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional. In 2003, he completed the three week Executive Development Program at Queen’s University. He received the GTA “Fellow of Distinction” award from the CIP Society for 2004.

Dave lives in Scarborough with his wife, Denise Chu Simpson, MBA and their two daughters, Samantha and Emma.
