Dr. Peter Röder, Member of the Board of Management, Munich Reinsurance Company

Peter Röder became a member of the Board of Management of Munich Reinsurance Company in October 2007, with overall responsibility for Global Clients and North America.

Dr. Röder joined Munich Re in 1989, commencing his professional career as a casualty underwriter.  In this capacity, he was responsible for a number of European countries and, from 1994, he assumed progressively responsible managerial roles in this area.

As of 2001, he assumed overall responsibility for the Netherlands non-life reinsurance business. He was appointed Head of Group Development, Corporate, in 2002.

Dr. Röder became a member of the Board of Management of ERGO International AG (Munich Re’s group of primary insurance companies in Europe) in January 2007.  In that capacity he was in charge of business development for the life and non-life portfolios in Asia, and in particular China and India.

Peter Röder studied business administration and economics at the universities of Würzburg and Mannheim, and was awarded a doctorate in business administration by the University of Mannheim in 1989.
