J.R. (Bob) Tisdale, MBA, FCIP, CRM, President and COO, Pembridge Ins. Co.

Bob Tisdale is President and Chief Operating Officer of both Pembridge Insurance Company and Pafco Insurance Company and is Vice President of Allstate Canada Group. 

Bob previously served as President and Chief Operating Officer for Pembridge Insurance Services Corporation and Pembridge General Insurance Company in Chicago, Illinois.

In 1978 when Bob joined the industry, he was one course short of completing his final year (grade 13) of high school.   While working full time in the industry, he completed grade 13, the CIP, the FCIP, a Certificate in Business Administration, the CRM designation, a certificate in Continuing Education a second major of the FCIP and numerous courses at York University in the BAS program and finally in 2001, he completed a MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh Scotland.

Bob has been honoured by the Insurance Industry with the James Richardson Award and the Centennial Award and was named Fellow of Distinction by the CIP Society in 2006. In 2003, he was selected for the Lakefield District Secondary School Wall of Honor.

Bob is currently on the Board of Directors of the Facility Association; is chair of the CIP society for Canada and past President of the Insurance Institute of Ontario. He participates on the IBC National Auto Steering Committee, the Ontario Committee and chairs the United Way Leadership Campaign for Allstate Canada Group.

Over the years he taught insurance institute courses in both Canada and the USA.  He authored several articles for publications in both countries.  He continues to conduct seminars for the insurance industry on various topics and for many years he provided seminars to government and the Hospitality Industry across Canada on Liquor Liability.  

Bob and his wife Christine are the parents of three sons, Zack, Justin and Tyler.  In his leisure time, Bob enjoys golf and playing hockey.  A two time coach of the year, he currently coaches the Aurora Tigers Midget AA Hockey team.  Twice he has been honored by the Town of Aurora with civic achievement awards.
