 Sean Russell is Senior Vice President and Head of Underwriting for Swiss Reinsurance Company Canada. Based in Toronto, he is responsible for overseeing all underwriting activities for Swiss Re’s property and casualty business segments in Canada.
Mr. Russell joined Swiss Re in 2001 as Head of the Underwriting and Actuarial department. Prior to Swiss Re, he worked for SCOR for three years. Mr. Russell started his insurance career in The Guardian Insurance Company of Canada as an actuary with responsibilities for pricing and reserving. He later assumed responsibility for managing personal lines underwriting for The Guardian.
Mr. Russell holds a BS degree in computer engineering from the University of Waterloo in Ontario. He is also a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
