Carol Jardine, FCIP, CRM, ICD.D
Carol Jardine has had an incredible journey in the Canadian insurance industry, starting four decades ago and culminating in her position as President of Wawanesa Mutual’s Canadian Property & Casualty Operations. Now, she serves on the Boards of Aviva Canada, Tarion Warranty Corporation, and Southlake Health, contributing her expertise to Audit, Finance, Risk, and Governance Committees.
During her tenure at Wawanesa Mutual, Carol was instrumental in implementing strategic technological and business transformations, including the successful acquisition of Western Financial Group. Her career has included the roles of President and COO of Canadian Northern Shield Insurance; President of CUMIS General Insurance; Vice President of Claims Services at TD Insurance; as well as Vice President Personal Insurance and Vice President Claims at RSA Canada. Her active involvement in industryassociations and committees includes chairing the Board of the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction, serving as a board member of the Insurance Bureau of Canada, and being a founding board member of Equite Association.
Carol’s dedication to the industry has been recognized with multiple prestigious awards, such as the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award from Insurance Business Canada, the Lew Dunn Award from WICC, and the National Established Leader Award in 2022 from the Insurance Institute of Canada. She has been listed in the Insurance Business Global 100 and Insurance Business Canada’s Elite Women lists. Her honors also include the Fellow of Distinction from the Insurance Institute of Ontario and the Centennial Award from the Insurance Institute of Canada.
