Amanda Dean

Vice President, Atlantic, IBC

Amanda has more than 12 years of experience in strategic communications and government relations. Prior to joining IBC in 2006, she held communications roles in the private sector and with the provincial and federal governments.

As Vice-President, Atlantic, Amanda works with all levels of government in the Atlantic provinces on issues affecting consumers and insurers, such as sustainable auto insurance, balanced regulation and adaptation to severe weather. Amanda also leads community and stakeholder initiatives in the region and oversees media, consumer and member relations.

Amanda holds a Bachelor of Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University (MSVU) and an MBA from Saint Mary’s University. She has volunteered with Symphony Nova Scotia, , held a position on the YWCA Halifax Board of Directors, been a guest lecturer on government relations at MSVU, and is currently a member of the MSVU Advancement and External Relations Committee.
