Bob Christie was appointed Chief Executive Officer and Superintendent of Financial Services for the Financial Services Commission of Ontario on September 6, 2005.
Mr. Christie served as Ontario’s Deputy Minister of Finance between August 2000 and February 2004. Most recently, Mr. Christie was Deputy Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, where he also served as Deputy from 1999 to 2000. Mr. Christie has also served as Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs.
Mr. Christie joined the Ontario Public Service in 1975 with the Ministry of Treasury and Economics. Over the years, he worked in a variety of capacities throughout the Ministry. In addition, he served in the Ministry of Intergovernmental Affairs as the Assistant Deputy Minister, Federal-Provincial Relations and as Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy Coordination in Cabinet Office.
Mr. Christie has a PhD in economics from Queen’s University.
