Brooke Hunter

President & CEO, Hunters International Insurance

Brooke Hunter founded HUNTERS International Insurance in 2005 because, clearly, there is room for intense attention to risks facing today’s business and community leaders. The Hunter family has been protecting Canadian organizations and their leaders since 1885.

Brooke grew up in Toronto speaking the language of risk and insurance since working summers in the mailroom of Hunter, Rowell Insurance – which she likes to imagine, was not that long ago. She had the opportunity to build sophisticated risk management and insurance experience working in Vancouver, Hong Kong, Sydney and for the last 20 odd years Toronto. Connecting her technical expertise to relationship and business building – before HUNTERS she ran a significant Toronto based insurance brokerage.

With enthusiasm, Brooke has given talks for the likes of the Institute for Corporate Directors, BNN, the Property Casualty Underwriters Society, Women Entrepreneurs of Canada and the Ontario Bar Association.

Active on multiple community boards, Brooke has served on the boards of the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise, St Clement’s School and two private clubs. She currently sits on the board of The Canadian Mothercraft Society and is a supporter of the charity Trails Youth Initiatives on their Board of Governors. Brooke is President and Director of Huntro Investments, a family office. She also serves a Director of Morrison Lamothe Inc., a frozen food company with a private label coffee subsidiary, Club Coffee LLP.

In terms of the insurance industry, Brooke just finished her terms on the board of the Toronto Insurance Conference including the President role and the Insurance Brokers Association of Canada.
