A journalist and consumer advocate, Ellen Roseman is the personal finance columnist for the Toronto Star. Her columns appear three times a week in the business section. She also has a long-running blog at EllenRoseman.com.
Roseman is the author of seven books. The latest is Fight Back: 81 Ways to Help You Save Money and Protect Yourself from Corporate Trickery, published by Wiley Canada in December 2012.
She is the chair of the Canadian Foundation for Advancement of Investor Rights, known as FAIR Canada, which advocates for investors and financial consumers.
She has taught courses in investing and personal finance at the University of Toronto’s continuing-studies department since 2004, and conducts workshops on financial basics at Ryerson University.
She was the Toronto Star’s business editor for two years, and previously worked for the Globe and Mail as a columnist and as associate managing editor of the Report on Business.
