Operations Manager, Recovery Task Force Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo

Erin O’Neill is the Operations Manager with the Wildfire Recovery Task Force for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in Fort McMurray. The Chief of Planning for the Regional Emergency Operations Centre during the wildfire, Erin ensured the safe re-entry of the Region. Now responsible for the recovery pillars of Environment, Rebuild and Mitigate; Erin is proud to be involved in the recovery of Fort McMurray. Erin has worked in Fort McMurray for 7 years holding positions within Land Administration, Long Range Planning, and Current Planning.  For 2 years, Erin was the Manager of Planning and Development with the Town of Sundre, Alberta and previously she held various planning positions at the City of Ottawa. Erin is a Registered Professional Planner and the current President of the Alberta Professional Planners Institute (APPI). Erin graduated from the University of Guelph – Master of Science, Rural Planning & Development Program in 2007. In 2005, Erin completed her Bachelor of Arts degree from Bishop’s University with Honours in Geography, Major in History and a Minor in Education.
