Garry Rogers

Seismologist, Senior Research Scientist, Natural Resources Canada

Dr. Rogers is a Senior Research Scientist with the Geological Survey of Canada and an Adjunct Professor in the School of Earth and Ocean Sciences at University of Victoria. A graduate of UBC and the University of Hawaii, Dr. Rogers is the leading authority on Canada’s west coast earthquakes. He currently serves on the National Research Council’s Standing Committee for Earthquake Design, which is responsible for earthquake provisions in Canada’s National Building Code, on advisory committees to the Earthquake Program of the US Geological Survey, NEPTUNE Canada and the New Zealand Journal of Geology and Geophysics and as a national representative on the Pacific Tsunami Warning System.
