Gregory A. Maciag

President & CEO, ACORD

Mr. Maciag has developed a broad knowledge and understanding of the role technology plays in the global insurance marketplace today. He joined ACORD in 1977 and served in various roles including Vice President of Automation, Corporate Secretary & Treasurer and Executive Vice President prior to being appointed President in 1994.

Mr. Maciag led the expansion of ACORD to serve the Life & Annuity segment of our business followed by the merger with WISe in London and Brussels that increased global participation for large commercial lines and reinsurance, including the London Market. He was a monthly guest technology columnist for ten years and is the author of two books “The Real-Time World” published in 2009 and “The Business Information Revolution” published in 2005.

He is the principal advocate for industry standards and continues to author columns, host videos and moderate industry events. He also publishes a personal blog. Prior to joining ACORD, he held Operations and Systems positions with Chubb & Son and the National Council on Compensation Insurance.

ACORD is the nonprofit industry organization created in 1970 to support the development of standards to support the exchange of insurance information among all trading partners.
