Marc Lipman

President, Lloyd's Canada

Marc Lipman is the President of Lloyd’s Canada Inc. and Attorney-in-Fact for Lloyd’s Underwriters.

Marc possesses a wealth of insurance industry experience and a deep understanding of the Canadian (re)insurance sector. Marc was named to the 2021 Insurance Business Global 100 list of outstanding industry professionals who are making a positive difference and helping drive change across the industry.

Prior to joining Lloyd’s Marc held a series of senior leadership roles at AIG Insurance Company of Canada including Chief Operating Officer and AIG Canada’s Chief Innovation Officer. Marc was previously named one of the Top 50 Data and Analytics Professionals – USA and Canada by Corinium Global Intelligence. Marc has led various digital initiatives including a project that was the recipient of the 2018 Celent Model Insurer Award for best practices in innovation and Emerging Technologies.

Marc is an expert in Canadian insurance legal and regulatory frameworks, with experience in the property and casualty, reinsurance, and mortgage insurance sectors. Marc currently serves in an advisory role to the board of directors of the Canadian Association of Managing Agents and until recently was a member of the Ontario Financial Services Commission Property and Casualty Stakeholder Advisory Committee.

Marc brings a deep understanding of the financial services industry, and expertise in critical areas including leadership, strategic planning and transformation, employee engagement, client and broker relationship management and communication.

Marc is a member of the Law Society of Ontario and holds a Masters of Law degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science and Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Canada.
