Mohamad “Mo” AL-Bustami is Managing Director of Technology Risk Division in Risk Support Sector (RSS) within OSFI. Mo leads the relatively young team that he helped create and build into a team of 18 strong within the past 3 years. The team is focused on reviewing technology crisis reporting, cyber incident response, in-depth understanding and threat assessments on any process or function that involves systems, data, infrastructure, networks, cyber security and digital technology.
Prior to joining OSFI, Mo worked at multiple Canadian and International Financial Institutions and global consulting firms including HSBC, PwC, RBC and CIBC.
Aside from spending time with his wife and 2 girls, in his spare time Mo enjoys dissecting malware and tracking threat actors. He has a couple of threat actors that he helped discover (MuddyWater – Nation State and EmpireMonkey – Financial Crime actor) and a couple of malwares that he named (PowerSing and PRB-Backdoor).
