Paul is currently the Executive Vice President, Personal Insurance at Economical Insurance. Prior to joining Economical, Mr. MacDonald was Senior Vice-President and Chief Claims Officer at RSA Canada. Before RSA, he was Vice-President, Canadian Operations for SGI CANADA, directing the company’s underwriting, broker services, business development, and regional claims operations, having joined from PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Insurance Consulting practice in Toronto.
Paul has held a number of senior positions within the insurance industry and was previously a Senior Vice-President and National Director at a global insurance brokerage where he led large-scale projects in business transformation, product strategy and client segmentation. He has advised government, public and private sector clients in a number of areas such as strategy, operations, risk management and performance improvement.
Paul is a lawyer, holds a B.A. (Hons) in English and Psychology, an MBA, a diploma in Risk Management and has completed the Certificate in Six Sigma (Black Belt). He has published a number of articles and is frequently asked to speak at insurance industry events.
