Richard Gauthier, FCIA FCAS MAAA, is the Partner in charge of the Actuarial Insurance Management Services for PricewaterhouseCoopers Canada. He is a Fellow of
the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries with twenty years of experience. His background encompasses reinsurance, public automobile plans, professional liability programs and
personal and commercial insurance, as well as managing an information and technology department. Richard also serves as Appointed Actuary to over 25 companies. His
activities with professional associations resulted in his writing various guidance notes, such as the Guidance Note on Discounting for Property & Casualty Insurance
Companies. Richard is also co-author of the Canadian Accounting section “Property Liability Insurance Accounting” of the Insurance Accounting and System Association, published by Robert Strain.
Mr. Gauthier earned a Bachelor of Actuarial Science at Université Laval, in Ste Foy, Québec
