Douglas Correa moderates NICC’s session Managing Emerging and Peak Risks, bringing a rare dual perspective to the conversation: more than 35 years in insurance and risk management, including five years as a risk manager on the client side. That combination gives him a practical view of how risk and insurance decisions are actually made – and where the pressure points sit when risk appetite meets real-world constraints.

At Aon, he leads key client relationships, execution, and strategy across the firm’s specialty practices, with a focus spanning Transportation (Aviation and Marine), Construction, Natural Resources, Financial Institutions, Mergers and Acquisitions, the Public Sector and Indigenous Services Group, and Legal Expense Insurance. Douglas’s role is to ensure clients consistently benefit from the best of Aon’s capabilities, data and analytics, and market relationships.

Douglas’s strengths include navigating complex and emerging risks, managing senior-level carrier relationships, leading cross-functional teams, and constructively challenging the status quo through alternative risk solutions and data-driven insights. He is also closely involved in claims advocacy, helping clients reach fair, timely, and commercially sensible outcomes on significant and complex claims.
