Biography
Responsibilities
Russ is an executive vice president, responsible for Aon Commercial Risk and Chief Broking Officer for Aon Commercial Risk. In this role, he is responsible for creating and executing the national strategy and processes for Commercial Risk Solutions; representing Canada on Aon’s global committees; working with Reinsurance Solutions, Health Solutions, and Retirement Solutions to deliver an Aon United approach to develop client solutions; serving as the face of Commercial Risk Solutions in Canada to the insurance market; developing new carrier relationships; championing client and colleague engagement; leading operational change initiatives; creating a high performance culture to support Aon’s growth strategy. In his role as chief broking officer, Russ oversees the broking teams as well as the claims, and AGRC team and is committed to evolving our current business model to enhance our global presence as a leader in risk management and insurance.
Experience
Russ joined Aon in 1998 and held a variety of positions during his tenure including senior vice president, chief broking officer–Specialty; broking leader, Western Canada; Prairie regional manager, broking; broker; and account executive.
Education
Russ earned a diploma in risk management and insurance. His professional designations include the FCIP (Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional), FRM (Financial Risk Manager), CIP (Chartered Insurance Professional), and CRM (Canadian Risk Management).
