Hudson is a Partner in the insurance practice at KPMG in Canada and is based in Toronto. He has over 20 years of experience in the audit of financial services companies having worked with KPMG in New Zealand and the Cayman Islands. He is currently involved in the audits of domestic and multi-national insurers (life, P&C and reinsurance) leading a team in planning, executing the audit strategy and reporting to those charged with governance. In addition, he is also focused on providing accounting advisory services relating to implementation of IFRS 17.
In addition, he has vast experience serving clients reporting under several basis of accounting including Canadian GAAP, US GAAP and IFRS and has assisted a number of clients with their IFRS conversion projects and provided a number of training sessions on IFRS topics.
Hudson is involved in assisting Canadian insurers with their development of their IFRS 17 change projects, including presenting education sessions, facilitating workshops, and developing their roadmap to implementation. He has provided a number of training sessions on IFRS topics for clients and in particular delivered a number of sessions on IFRS 17.
Hudson has spoken previously at a number of industry conferences such as the Canadian Insurance Accountants Association, Acumen, IBC Symposium and KPMG Annual Insurance Issues Conference.
