Dr. Bernhard Gause, LL.M., is Member of the Executive Board of the German Insurance Association (GDV) since 2010. Joining the Association in 1999 in the Legal Affairs Department, he was Executive Assistant to the President and the CEO of the GDV from 2001 to 2004, and Head of the European Office from 2004 to 2008 in Brussels. 2008 and 2009 he was General Counsel and Head of Legal Affairs of the GDV.
Dr. Gause is General Director of the German Green Card Bureau and the German Guarantee Fund in Berlin. At the level of the Executive Board of the Association, the VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH in Cologne (fire protection and security for industrial and commercial enterprises), the GDV Dienstleistungs-GmbH in Hamburg (information center and roadside emergency telephone for accident victims) and the Extremus AG in Cologne (terrorism insurance) are within his responsibility.
Dr. Gause finished his law studies (Munich, Edinburgh) with a doctorate in European law of groups of companies at Humboldt-University Berlin.
