Colleen DeMerchant is the General Manager of Nuclear Insurance Association of Canada. She appeared before the Standing Committee on Natural Resources on November 27, 2007 and November 18, 2009 with respect to the changes to the current Nuclear Liability Act.
Colleen has also participated in international conferences on civil liability for nuclear damage with the OECD in 2001 and 2005 and INLA (International Nuclear Lawyers Association) in 2009. She co-authored a paper that was presented at the INLA conference, has been published in the Canadian Underwriter magazine and was a presenter for The Canadian Institute’s first Nuclear Symposium in Saskatoon, Sask. in February, 2010. She has authored a paper that explains the nuclear insurance exclusion in the IBC industry standard general liability wording.
Colleen has also conducted nuclear insurance seminars for the insurance community.
