David Lalonde

SVP, AIR Worldwide

Mr. Lalonde is senior vice president responsible for the Services and Analytics group, providing Catastrophe Loss Analysis Services(tm) and Risk Transfer Services(tm). He is extensively involved in the securitization of insurance risk, portfolio optimization, ratemaking, dynamic risk evaluation and analysis studies. Mr. Lalonde has a wealth of experience in the use of dynamic financial analysis models for pricing, reserving and corporate planning.

Prior to joining AIR, he was a director of Coopers & Lybrand where he led a team of actuaries who provided a wide variety of consulting services to insurance companies and self-insured organizations to help them assess and manage their risk. Prior to that, Mr. Lalonde was chief actuary at the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia, where he reported to the company’s Board of Directors on a wide range of strategic and operational issues, including recommending appropriate levels of surplus based on stochastic planning models.

Mr. Lalonde is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is Chair of the CAS Advisory Committee on Securitization/Risk Financing and a member of the Insurance Securitization Task Force.

Mr. Lalonde earned his B.Math. (Honors) in Actuarial Science with Statistics from the University of Waterloo.
