A native of Surrey, British Columbia, Dave moved to Ontario in 1987 and began his insurance career at the Canadian head office of State Farm Insurance. After serving in a variety of progressive management roles there, he became President and CEO of Facility Association, Canada’s automobile insurance residual market organization, in July 2001.
Dave was president of the Insurance Institute of Ontario for two terms (1999 through 2001) and he received the GTA Fellow of Distinction award from the Chartered Insurance Professionals Society for 2004.
Dave has a BA from Simon Fraser University; an MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business, is a Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional, and holds the Chartered Director designation from the Directors College.
Dave lives in Scarborough with his wife, Denise, and their two teen-age daughters, Samantha and Emma. He is a member of the Chartered Insurance Professionals’ Society and the Institute of Corporate Directors.
