Gord Enders is the President of Direct-Line Insurance, with five brokerages, three financial services operations, and two Alberta Registries locations, all of which he co-owns and operates with his wife and business partner Carol Romain-Enders.
He has been in the insurance industry for 25 years, working in various capacities in brokerage, insurance company, and direct writer operations.
In 2013 -14, Gord served as President of the Insurance Brokers Association of Alberta (IBAA). It was during this time, that the Calgary and Southern Alberta floods took place.
As IBAA President, Gord was integral in leading IBAA advocacy efforts on behalf of brokers and consumers in light of the challenges facing property insurance in the Alberta marketplace including weather related claims of wind, hail, sewer back up, and overland flooding.
During his term, the IBAA held the first ever Property Insurance Forum, gathering brokerage, company, government, and other stakeholders from across Alberta and Canada with the aim of starting the industry conversation on managing modern day property risks, including overland flood.
Gord continues to be an advocate for flood insurance that is affordable, profitable, and sustainable.
