Jordan Brennan

Chief Economist & Vice President, Policy Development, IBC

Jordan is Chief Economist and Vice President of Policy Development at the Insurance Bureau of Canada. Prior to that,
Jordan was Chief Economist with Unifor, Canada’s largest private sector labour union, wherein he led the union’s
engagements on macroeconomics and fiscal policy. In his capacity as Unifor’s lead economist, Jordan was an advisor
to Ontario’s Minister of Finance and to the Senior Deputy Governor at the Bank of Canada.

A recovering academic, Jordan was a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School from 2016 through 2018. He holds a
bachelor degree in economics and accounting from Wilfrid Laurier University. His master’s and doctoral degrees, both
in political science, were conferred by York University.

Jordan’s research and writing has appeared in academic forums and in popular media outlets, including the Toronto
Star, Globe & Mail, National Post, CBC News, Radio Canada International and Maclean’s Magazine, among others.
