Michael has served on the IBAO Board and Executive for 5 years. As IBAO President, Michael brings with him over 25 years’ experience in the property and casualty, and life insurance fields. Michael has worked both on the company side as well as at brokerages. In 2014 he had the opportunity to invest in a brokerage and is now a partner at Erb and Erb Insurance Brokers in Kitchener.
In addition to IBAO, Michael is also involved with a number of other industry associations and committees including IBAC and the Facility Association. He has both his RIBO and life licenses as well as a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation – obtaining second highest marks in Canada when he completed this designation. He holds his Honours BA from Huron College, at University of Western Ontario.
Michael and his wife Sara, who is also in the insurance industry, live in Waterloo. Michael is an avid runner and has completed 25 full marathons including the New York, Chicago and Boston marathons.
