Philippe Trahan heads the Insurance-Linked Securities Group at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan, in Toronto. Teachers’ has been investing in ILS since 2005 and can do so across all asset types, from catastrophe bonds, derivative products, external managers, collateralized reinsurance and public and private equities.
Prior to joining OTPP, Philippe was a reinsurance broker with Aon Re for 5 years and also held various non-traditional actuarial positions. Philippe is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and holds a Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Sciences from Laval University in Quebec City.
