In 1972, Ray began his career at State Farm as an Administrative Trainee in Management Planning. In 1988, he became the Fire and Casualty Operations Manager and later Fire Division Manager. In 1995, he was appointed Canadian Property and Casualty Claims Manager responsible for both Auto and Fire Claims. Ray assumed his latest position as Canadian Risk and Compliance Director in April 2007.
In addition to his responsibilities as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer for the State Farm Insurance Companies in Canada including State Farm Life International Insurance Ltd, Ray was appointed Chief Compliance Officer for State Farm Investor Services (Canada) Co. in 2009.
In 2003, Ray was recognized with the Queen’s Jubilee Award. The medal is awarded to Canadians who have made a significant contribution to their fellow citizens, their community and Canada.
In July, Ray celebrated his 40th Anniversary with State Farm. He lives in Mount Albert, Ontario with his wife, Andrée, and they have four children.
