Stéphane Morency joined DGIG in 2005. DGIG is the property and casualty insurance arm of Desjardins Group, the largest cooperative financial institution in Canada.
Mr. Morency’s primary mandate is to reinforce the company’s competitive advantages and enhance the customer experience, by applying new thinking to insurance. His responsibilities consist of corporate strategy, marketing, client experience, digital, business intelligence, innovation, strategic partnerships, development and implementation of business solutions and operational excellence. He oversaw the launch of a smartphone based telematics program and Internet of Things home prevention solution, making Desjardins the first insurer in Canada to introduce a connected home and auto insurance offer.
Mr. Morency started his career in Paris with a large European management consulting firm. Before joining DGIG, he was a partner of a Canadian consulting firm, for which he led the strategic planning practice. Throughout his consulting career, he supported the CEOs and Boards of many large corporations in the elaboration and implementation of their strategies.
Member of the NPS Loyalty Forum, Mr. Morency serves on the Board of the Canadian Association of Direct Relationship Insurers (CADRI). He holds a business degree from Laval University (Quebec City), a joint MBA/Diploma in International Business/East-Asian Studies from McGill University (Montreal) and he is also a graduate from the Program of International Management at HEC (Paris).
