Toby Stubbs joined the Pembroke Agency at Lloyd’s in March, 2012 and has over thirty year’s experience in the insurance industry, having been an underwriter since 1981. Most recently Toby worked within Brit as North American Property Treaty Underwriter. Prior to Brit Toby worked at Aspen Insurance, where he was a founder team member, and Wellington from which Aspen was established following the WTC attack in 2001.
His first sixteen years were spent at Murray Lawrence (now Amlin) Lloyd’s underwriting agency where he worked closely with Richard Keeling and Tony Taylor (who went on to found Montpelier Re). Toby is a former Chairman of Lloyd’s Property Reinsurance Business Panel & is currently Deputy Chairman.
He has been a speaker at The National Insurance Conference of Canada(and its predecessor!) & has had articles published in Canadian Insurance periodicals.
He is married to Fiona & has two children, aged 12 & 10. Last year he was master of his Livery Company, The Grocers’ Company in the City of London and was lucky enough to meet both HM the Queen & the Duke of Edinburgh in their Diamond Jubilee Year.
